Wood and Whites 2022

The fabulous Wood and Whites competition returned this year and what a wonderful event it was! Totnes Community Tennis Club went back in time to those fun-filled on-court adventures of wooden rackets and ‘whiter than white’ clothing!

The standard of tennis was amazing – many of the rackets were over 30 years old and slightly ‘curved’ which added to the fun! After 3 hours of round robin matches the final was hotly contested but Jo Gibson & Rud Sawers narrowly beat Abi Hawman & Miles Kevin 6-4. The sun shone, the wind blew, the BBQ was sold out and everyone had a wonderful time – maybe we should always use wooden rackets!!?
